Remembrance - a poem -

remembrance a poem by gemma lubbock
Over the snow capped hillsides
sands of time
drift down
through our lives
sublime

The wind blows
dust flies free
uncovering memories
ghosts arise
like cliffs
edifices of
molten rock
reaching for the skies
but halted

forests, filled with darkness
amongst the glistening frosts

a fire, crackling
embers
glowing
a gust of wind
blowing ash
the dusting
like the turn of the hourglass
seals our fate.
